The
West End Health Resource Centre is a registered charity and a limited
company, run by
a voluntary management committee.
Using a holistic approach to health, we provide activities and services
for people living in disadvantaged neighbourhoods to keep well, to
get better after being ill, and also to improve their fitness.
The organisation has a purpose-built Centre in the west end of Newcastle
upon Tyne.
Since opening in the mid-90’s, we have responded
to local and national initiatives to tackle inequalities in health,
and consequently have expanded the range of activities and geographical
areas, working in different settings in the east and west end of
the City.
It is assumed that people visiting this site are interested in learning
about how the organisation runs, what sort of work it undertakes,
its history and philosophy, its successes and learning points.
